Hearing Tests

For new patients we normally start with a Hearing Health Check. This is a 15-minute appointment where we will examine the health of your ears, conduct a hearing screen and give you further guidance based on your results. A Full Hearing Assessments lasts approximately 90 minutes. Once all testing is completed our Audiologists will work you to develop the best treatment plan for your hearing.

Our Audiologist will begin by taking a full assessment of your hearing needs. Otoscopy (visual inspection) is performed to assess the health of your ear canal and ear drum. This will be followed by complete pure-tone audiometry and a hearing correction test to assess how well we can improve your hearing. Post testing we will work with you to develop a personalised management plan for specific hearing needs.

We know hearing tests and talking about hearing aids can be a bit nerve-wracking. So, our audiologists will break down your test results and how they fit into your daily life in a straightforward, easygoing way. If we think hearing aids might help you, we'll chat about the benefits and even show you how they work, making sure you're comfortable and clued in throughout the whole process You will not be pressured into making any decisions with regards to your hearing. Our Audiologists will give you as much information as possible with regards to how any hearing device may help you, allowing you to make the best informed decision possible.

Correcting your hearing loss is not a one-stop solution and often requires multiple appointments to get your hearing aids performing optimally. ​ We make sure all our patients are looked after under our hearing rehabilitation plan. This involves an in-depth fitting, weekly follow ups and expert fine tuning of your hearing aids.
