Signs that you may have a hearing loss

  • Mumbled speech

  • Mishearing conversations

  • Television never clear enough

  • Telephone on speaker mode

  • Hearing more background noise than speech

Admitting issues with your hearing can be difficult, and investigating a hearing loss can be daunting. However, we believe everyone deserves the right to hear the world around them.

Our hearing tests don't just involve a standard "beep test". We take the time required to conduct complete in-depth assessment of your hearing needs, determine your hearing thresholds and asses the impact of correcting a hearing loss.

We offer two different types of hearing tests. An introductory 15-minute Hearing Health Check for new patients or a

90-minute Comprehensive Hearing Assessment for individuals with a known hearing loss. Scroll for more info.

Hearing correction tests & Trial aids

If you are diagnosed with a hearing loss your audiologist will evaluate the benefit of hearing aids via a hearing correction test. This involves programming hearing aids to your individual prescription and assessing how well they can enhance your hearing.

If some instances your Audiologist may recommend a hearing aid trial. Trials normally last a week and give you the opportunity to experience first-hand the benefits of hearing aid amplification in the environments you love most.

  • Is ear wax normal?
Ear wax is part of our body's natural immune system and should naturally work its way out of your ears. However, if earwax becomes impacted in the ear canal it may need to be professionally removed.
  • Is microsuction safe?
Microsuction is considered the safest method of ear wax removal. It eliminates the use of water flushing seen in traditional syringing and, maintains the ears natural immune function. A typical ear wax appointment is 15 - 30 minutes. Our ear wax microsuction procedure is performed by qualified ear-wax mirosuction clinicians trained to use ENT developed microsuction equipment.
  • What if my hearing levels do not improve after ear wax removal?
If your hearing levels do not improve after ear wax removal at Echo Hearing, our clinicians may provide a complimentary hearing health check. This involves conducting a hearing screen to determine if a hearing loss might be present. Once we have the results from the hearing screen, our specialists will discuss the next best steps with you, which may include further diagnostic evaluations or a referral to a further speciality.
